Baby west wing fans (anyone who started watching the west wing since the orange menace was elected)—I wanna hear all of your thoughts! There’s so much new content in the tag that has a different vibe from past iterations of the fandom (and I’ve seen them all—from twop, the yahoo group and the dueling fanfic season 8s, and standalone fic archives, to years of recycled gifsets).

I got drinks with a couple of my former coworkers today and we were talking about our toxic/abusive boss and how she flips from loving people to hating them. And one of them said to me, “you know, she did say nice things about you to other people—she just had… trouble expressing herself to you.”
Which is actually hilarious because this woman called me the morning before the election screaming incoherently about lit (after screaming at a 22 year old organizer and an rockstar intern who took the week off school to help with final four). To the point where I had to tell her I couldn’t understand her and that I’d be happy to continue this conversation at a time when she was calm enough that it would be more productive. She told me she hated me and then never spoke to or acknowledged me (her campaign manager who was providing daily updates on the vote count) again.
We ended up out performing every other Democrat on the ballot in our district by at least 4 points, she’s back in congress and running for senate (though stories about her bad behavior are plaguing her senate run). And I got to sit both my organizer and intern down and tell them that, yes politics is stressful, especially right before and election, but it is never acceptable for a candidate (or manager of any kind) to speak to them like that and that in any other field that would be grounds for immediate disciplinary action, but unfortunately that’s not an option with candidate.
A very belated update: She got boxed out of the general in March and I’m the last person to get her elected 😘
